Aaron Tshibola, born on 2 January 1995 (age 31), is a DR Congo international midfielder with Kilmarnock. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.91m) presence in central midfield, he wears squad number 36 and is valued at around £128,000 by Transfermarkt.
He came through at Reading, where his early progress was helped by loan football rather than carefully polished from a distance. A spell at Hartlepool United gave him senior minutes and a clearer sense of the physical side of the game before he returned to Reading and began to establish himself properly.
A move to Aston Villa followed, but his time there became a run of loans rather than a settled breakthrough. Kilmarnock first got him in that period, and Rugby Park became one of the more consistent stops in a career that has moved through England, Belgium, Portugal, Turkey and Scotland.
His best league season came with Kilmarnock in 2020-21, when he scored three goals in 31 appearances. In 2026-27, he has made one league appearance and one League Cup appearance for Kilmarnock, as well as three appearances for DR Congo in African World Cup qualifying.
Tshibola’s career has been that of a well-travelled, experienced midfielder rather than a straight-line climb. Reading shaped him, Villa moved him on to a wider circuit, and Kilmarnock have remained the club where he has had his most productive league football.
