Adam Idah, born in Cork on 11 February 2001 (age 25), is a Republic of Ireland striker now with Swansea City. An imposing 6ft 3in (1.90m) forward, he came to wider notice at Norwich City before Celtic brought him to Glasgow in February 2024.
His Celtic spell gave him the most productive league season of his career so far. In 2024-25 he scored 13 goals in 35 league appearances, a useful return from a striker whose game has always needed regular football rather than soft praise. Celtic had him for a relatively short period, but it was not a marginal one.
Idah left Celtic in September 2025 for Swansea City. Wearing number 9, he has remained a regular first-team presence in 2026-27, with 11 league appearances and four league goals, plus one League Cup appearance. Across all competitions for Swansea this season, he has made 12 appearances and scored four goals.
He has also stayed involved with the Republic of Ireland, making six appearances in European World Cup qualifying this season, scoring once, and adding a goal in four Nations League appearances. His market value is around £4.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Idah’s career to this point runs from Norwich to Celtic and on to Swansea, with his Celtic year standing as the sharpest scoring spell of his club career so far. He remains an active, established striker at club and international level.
