Adam Montgomery, born on the 18th of July 2002, is a sturdy Scottish defender known primarily for his performances as left back for Livingston. Standing at a modest 5 foot 8 inches, or 1.73m for the metric users, he commands an air of nimble agility on the pitch. This lad weighs in at 9 stone and 6 pounds, which is the equivalent of 60kg. A true number 3, the jersey he dons with his full commitment.
Montgomery's journey in professional football commenced in July 2009, when, still a trainee, he was inducted into Celtic, a team that competes in the Premiership, hailing from his homeland. As per his debut season (2020-2021) with Celtic, this nascent player graced the pitch for two first team league matches, later featuring in eight such matches in the subsequent 2021-2022 season.
Transitioning his training into real-time experience, Montgomery set out on loan to Aberdeen (another Scottish Premiership team) in January 2022. During his tenure at Aberdeen in the same season, he proved his mettle by playing in seven first team league matches.
This loan period at Aberdeen concluded in June 2022, and saw Montgomery return to Celtic. He once again graced the field in green and white, securing a position in first team league matches twice in his debut season (2020-2021), and succeeding to do the same on eight instances in 2021-2022.
This journey took another turn when, in July 2022, Montgomery was sent out on loan, this time to St Johnstone, a Championship team in Scotland. During that season (2022-2023), he displayed his skills in an impressive 28 league matches.
Upon completing this loan period in June 2023, he returned to Celtic and continued to solidify his worth. In both, his debut season (2020-2021) and the season of 2021-2022, this defender proved to be a Celtic staple with two and eight first-team appearances respectively.
In July 2023, our lad was off on another loan period, this one taking him over the border to Fleetwood Town in England's League Two. He returned to Celtic in January 2024, following which he swiftly moved to another loan spell at Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership. In February 2024, he once again returned to Celtic.
Mr. Montgomery certainly became a seasoned traveller, making his way on loan to Queen's Park (When? Please include this detail) before returning to Celtic. His tenure at Queen's Park proved a bit fruitful, as he not only appeared in 12 first-team league matches but also managed to score one goal.
In an ever-evolving landscape, Montgomery found himself on the move again in July 2025. This time he headed East to Livingston, another member of the Scottish Premiership. In the current ongoing 2025-2026 season, he has already made four first team appearances and notably participated in the League Cup 2025-2026 for Livingston, contributing one goal out of the single start he got.
