Adam Montgomery, born on 18 July 2002 (age 23), is a Scottish left-back at Celtic, where he wears squad number 54. He joined the club from Aberdeen in June 2022, giving him an early Celtic connection before his senior career began to take a less straightforward shape.
At Celtic, he has been around successful squads rather than becoming a fixed first-team presence. His honours include two Premiership titles, in 2021/22 and 2024/25, and a League Cup, along with one Premiership runners-up finish. That is useful experience, though the usual caveat applies: medals and a settled role are not quite the same thing.
His most productive league season came at Queen’s Park in 2024/25, when he scored once in 12 appearances. In 2025/26, he has made eight league appearances without scoring, still operating primarily from left-back.
Montgomery’s career so far has been shaped by Celtic, a move from Aberdeen, and the search for regular senior football. He remains a developing professional with enough experience behind him, but still with work to do in turning appearances into a more permanent place.
