Adam Montgomery, born on 18 July 2002 (age 24), is a Scottish left-back on Celtic’s books, wearing squad number 54. He joined Celtic from Aberdeen in June 2022, giving him an early place in the club’s system before much of his senior football came elsewhere.
His Celtic period has brought him two Premiership title wins and a League Cup, as well as a runners-up finish in the league. That is a useful line on the CV, though his own development has depended as much on finding regular football away from the first-team glare.
The clearest spell of that kind came with Queen’s Park in 2024-25, which was his most productive league season: 12 appearances and one goal. For a developing full-back, that sort of run matters more than any inflated talk about potential.
Montgomery remains a Celtic player, with his career still in the stage where minutes, role and consistency will shape what comes next. His path so far has been Aberdeen to Celtic, then senior experience away from the club, with his longer-term level still to be settled.
