Adilson Malanda, born on 29 October 2001 (age 24), is a French central defender now with Middlesbrough. A commanding 6ft 4in (1.94m), he wears squad number 29 and is valued at around £7m by Transfermarkt.
His career has been shaped above all by Charlotte FC. Across four league seasons there, Malanda made 100 league appearances and scored two goals, becoming a regular presence in the middle of their defence rather than a passing squad name. His busiest league campaign came in 2024, when he played 32 times and scored once.
He has since moved on to Middlesbrough, where his early record stands at eight appearances across all competitions, including Championship, FA Cup, League Cup and Championship Play-off football. It is a career with one clear main body of work so far: Charlotte gave him the platform, and Middlesbrough is the next test.
