Alex Gogic, hailing from Cyprus and born on the 13th of April 1994, makes his mark on the Scottish football circuit as an established central defender, presently with St Mirren. His solid build, standing at 6ft (1.85m) tall and weighing in at 13 stone (83kg), contributes greatly to his commanding presence on the field, and these qualities extend to his representation of the Cyprus national team. Having built his career wearing the number 13 jersey, Gogic is no stranger to the spotlight.
A look back at Gogic's football history uncovers a well-travelled journey which began in the Super League in Greece back in July 2013, when he transferred from Olympiacos to Swansea City, as noted by the English Championship.
Gogic's move to Scotland occurred in February 2017, where he was welcomed to the Hamilton Academical, in the Scottish League One. During his time there, he consistently made his presence known with first team appearances across several seasons, notably scoring a goal in each of the 2017 - 2018 and 2019 - 2020 seasons.
Hamilton Academical's loss was Hibernian's gain when July 2020 saw Gogic transfer to the Premiership outfit. While there, he remained a consistent fixture in first team appearances, and ensuring his name sat on the scoreboard in the 2020 - 2021 season.
Gogic's career took a temporary detour in January 2022, when he was transferred on loan to St Mirren also in the Premiership in Scotland. His influence was immediately clear, with Gogic signalling his impact by scoring in each of his first seasons.
Gogic's transition became permanent in August 2022, when he left Hibernian for St Mirren. His performance record remained consistent, with first team appearances a regular occurrence and goals being scored each season.
In addition to his league performances, Gogic also made contributions during the League Cup 2025 - 2026 for St Mirren and the Scottish Cup 2025 - 2026, where he found the back of the net whilst also securing a place in the starting lineup on numerous occasions. Gogic's contributions to St Mirren's cause continues into the current 2025 - 2026 season, where he has already made 31 first team appearances and scored two goals in league matches.
