Alex Iacovitti, born on 2nd September 1997 in England, is an adept defender who currently plays for St Mirren club in Scotland. He predominantly assumes the position of a central defender. Standing a solid 6ft 2in (1.88m) tall and weighing 12st 12lb (82kg), the 27-year-old footballer dons the number 4 jersey.
Making his start in premier football in July 2015, Iacovitti joined Nottingham Forest of the English Premier League. In his debut season of 2016-2017 with Nottingham Forest, he made two first team appearances in league matches.
Shortly after, in August 2016, Iacovitti transferred on loan from Nottingham Forest to Mansfield Town. Mansfield Town was a League One club, where he made eight first-team appearances in league matches for the 2016-2017 season. Following the end of his loan period, he returned to Nottingham Forest in January 2017.
He sought greener pastures on loan once again in July 2017 when he moved to Forest Green Rovers in the National League of England. There, he made 14 first-team appearances and scored one goal in league matches in the 2017-2018 season before returning to Nottingham Forest in January 2018.
In January 2019, we find Iacovitti on loan again, this time it was Oldham Athletic, a League Two club, which had beckoned. By July 2019, he made a permanent move from Nottingham Forest to Oldham Athletic.
His first venture into Scottish football occured in July 2020 when he transferred from Oldham Athletic to Ross County. Although the transfer fee remains undisclosed, Iacovitti proved his worth over three seasons, making 103 first team appearances and scoring seven goals in league matches.
Returning briefly to England, in July 2023 and 2024, Alex transferred from Ross County to Port Vale and subsequently from Port Vale to St Mirren, his current club. Even though the transfer fee remains undisclosed, Iacovitti's significant contributions to St Mirren’s game can’t be overlooked.
In the 2024-2025 season at St Mirren, Alex made 14 appearances and scored one goal in league matches. In the current season of 2025-2026, he continues to play for St Mirren. Iacovitti also participated in the League Cup 2025-2026 for St Mirren with one start and three appearances as a substitute, and the Scottish Cup 2024-2025, where he started once.
