Alex Murphy, strikingly tall defender, was birthed in the Republic of Ireland on the 25th of June, 2006. As an 18-year-old lad standing at an impressive 6ft 2in (1.88m), Murphy isn't one to go unnoticed amongst the crowd. Tipping the scales at a robust 11st 13lb (76kg), the young defender is a solid wall indeed, suiting his primary position as a central defender to a tee. Currently playing for Newcastle United in England, the number 37 jersey he dons in testament to his dedication to the club, and indeed, the sport.
In his formative years at the English club, Murphy made his debut during the 2023-2024 season and surprisingly made two first team appearances. A commendable start, considering the competitive nature of the football environment in England. The good news for Toon fans is that Murphy is confirmed to continue playing in the black and white Newcastle United kit for the 2025 - 2026 season.
