Alex Paulsen, born on 4 July 2002 (age 24), is a New Zealand goalkeeper with Motherwell. An imposing 6ft 4in (1.93m), he brings the obvious frame for the position, though the rest of his senior career is still taking shape.
His first notable league involvement came at Wellington Phoenix, where he made four league appearances in 2021–22. That remains his most productive league season in terms of senior league outings before his move into Scottish football.
At Motherwell in 2026–27, Paulsen has made 12 league appearances and another six in the Conference League Qualifiers, taking him to 18 appearances across all competitions for the club. It is a modest but useful body of work for a goalkeeper still building a settled senior profile.
