Alphonso Davies, born on 2 November 2000 (age 25), is a Canada international left-back whose club career has been shaped largely in Munich. He wears the number 19 shirt for Bayern Munich and is valued at around £34m by Transfermarkt.
Davies first made his name with Vancouver Whitecaps, where his 2018 league season was the most productive of his career in front of goal: eight goals in 31 appearances. That was the springboard, but not the main story. Bayern Munich has been the serious work: 174 league appearances and 10 league goals across nine seasons.
At Bayern, Davies has settled as a quick, direct left-back rather than a converted winger living off early promise. In 2026–27, he has made seven Bundesliga appearances, one DFL-Supercup appearance and three Champions League appearances, scoring twice in Europe. Across all competitions for Bayern this season, he has 11 appearances and two goals.
He has also remained part of Canada’s picture, making one World Cup appearance this season. His career to date is a straightforward one: early impact in Vancouver, long service at Bayern Munich, and an established role for his country.
