Anthony Ralston, born on 16 November 1998 (age 27), is a Scottish right-back whose senior career has been shaped almost entirely at Celtic. He came in from Queen's Park in January 2016 and, wearing squad number 51, has become one of the longer-serving players in the current group.
There were early loan spells to give him senior football, but the main story has always been at Celtic. Across 11 seasons he has made 109 league appearances and scored seven league goals, with his most productive league campaign coming in 2021-22, when he scored four times in 28 appearances.
Ralston has been part of a successful Celtic era, winning eight Premiership titles, five League Cups and three Scottish Cups. He has not always been first choice, but he has stayed useful, durable and ready enough to matter, which is not a small thing at a club where squad players are tested rather than merely stored.
In 2025-26, he remains a regular first-team presence. He has made 22 league appearances, along with outings in the League Cup, Scottish Cup, Champions League qualifiers and Europa League, taking him to 33 Celtic appearances in all competitions this season, with one goal. His form has been solid and consistent, and he has also made three Scotland appearances in World Cup qualifying.
His current market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt. Ralston’s career is, in plain terms, a Celtic one: developed here, tested here, and still contributing here.
