Atakan Karazor, born on 13 October 1996 (age 29), is a Turkey international and a commanding 6ft 3in (1.90m) defensive midfielder. His senior career had its early lift at Holstein Kiel, where his most productive league season came in 2018-2019 with two goals in 22 appearances.
Stuttgart have since taken up the bulk of his career. Across seven seasons he has made 188 league appearances and scored four league goals, a fair indication of the job: steady midfield work rather than headline production. Wearing squad number 16, he remains part of their first-team core rather than a name living off old service.
In 2025-2026, Karazor has made 39 appearances for Stuttgart in all competitions, including 28 in the Bundesliga, one in the DFL-Supercup and 10 in the Europa League, without scoring. He has also played twice for Turkey in European World Cup qualifying. His current market value is around £7.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
Karazor’s career is shaped mainly by his long spell at Stuttgart: a tall, experienced defensive midfielder who continues to be used regularly at club and international level.
