Auston Trusty hails from the United States, born on 12 August 1998. This puts him presently at the ripe old age of 27. He is a footballer who primarily lines up as a central defender, currently plying his trade for the esteemed Celtic Football Club. The man's got height for a footballer and he stands at a lofty 6ft 3in (1.91m). Weight-wise, he tips the scales at around 12st 1lb (77kg). Trusty proudly wears the number 6 jersey for Celtic, and his talent has not gone unnoticed by his national team, as he has had representation honours for the United States.
According to Transfermarkt, Trusty's current market value is estimated to be around £4.5m.
In January 2016, Trusty began his professional journey in the MLS for the Philadelphia Union. His first stint at the club lasted from 2016 until 2018, during which time he made 34 first team appearances, managing to find the back of the net on one occasion. The subsequent season, Trusty remained a consistent figure in the line-up, featuring in 22 matches and scoring another goal.
Come November 2019, our protagonist moved ship to the Colorado Rapids, also of the MLS, for a fee kept under wraps. There, he enjoyed some regular play time, making eight appearances in the 2020 season, then 33 in the 2021 season and 16 in 2022, scoring a goal in the process.
In the winter transfer window of 2022, Trusty was whisked away across the pond to England, signing for Premier League goliaths Arsenal for a sum of around £1.6 million. However, his tenure there was short-lived as he went back on loan to the Colorado Rapids in February 2022. His second spell at Colorado was a fairly consistent one, playing eight matches in 2020, 33 in 2021 and 16 in the ongoing 2022 season.
Alabama's Birmingham City was his next destination, moving there on loan from Arsenal in July 2022. He embraced Championship football with 44 appearances and 4 goals in the 2022-2023 season. By August 2023, Trusty had moved clubs again within England, as he transferred from the Gunners to Sheffield United for a sizeable fee of around £5m. There, he engaged in 32 matches in the 2023-2024 season and made a single appearance in the following one.
In the summer of 2024, Trusty's journey led him northwards to Celtic FC in Scotland, as the Glasgow giants paid an estimated £6m for his services. His first season at Parkhead, 2024-2025, saw Trusty make 22 first-team appearances and score once. In the current 2025-2026 season, he has lined up 16 times for the Hoops.
Trusty has also had the honour of playing in several cup competitions for Celtic, making three starts in the League Cup 2025-2026, a single appearance as a substitute in the Champions League Qualifiers 2025-2026, and appearances in five matches of the Europa League 2025-2026, where he netted twice.
