Benjamin Nygren, born on 8 July 2001 (age 25), is a Sweden international attacking midfielder who joined Celtic from FC Nordsjaelland in July 2025 for around £1.5m. He took the number eight shirt and quickly became more than a neat technical option between the lines.
His first league season in Glasgow was his most productive to date: 16 goals in 38 Premiership appearances in 2025-26. Celtic won the Premiership that season, with Nygren adding a level of goal threat from midfield that made the fee look modest rather quickly.
He has remained a regular first-team presence in 2026-27. Across all competitions for Celtic this season he has made 24 appearances and scored nine goals, including six in 12 league games.
