Cheick Diabate

Cheick Diabate is a central defender for St Johnstone and, in the 2026–27 Premiership, has 11 appearances (11 starts), one goal, three yellow cards and one red – starting every appearance through the opening 12 of 38 rounds underlines his role as a regular centre-back and a consistent selection in the side.

Diabate averages a 6.8 rating this season, with a high of 7.48 and a low of 5.68 – the range points to match-to-match variability but an overall baseline that is broadly steady for a central defender across the opening months of the campaign.

Diabate is 24 and English; he joined Exeter City in July 2019 from a previous club, spent loan spells with Bradford City in August 2024 and January 2025, and completed a permanent move to St Johnstone in July 2025 – the sequence maps a player who developed through a sustained spell at Exeter, gained experience via temporary moves to Bradford and then secured a move to his current club.

Transfers include a free transfer to St Johnstone in July 2025, two loans between Exeter City and Bradford City in August 2024 and January 2025, and an earlier arrival at Exeter in July 2019 without a recorded fee – the pattern shows loans used to obtain playing time before a free permanent switch to his current team.
