Chris Cadden, born on 19 September 1996 (age 29), is a Scottish right-back whose senior career was built first at Motherwell. His early development included a useful loan spell at Albion Rovers, the sort of move that gives a young player proper football rather than polite encouragement from the touchline.
He broke through at Motherwell and became a regular, with the 2016–17 league season standing out as his most productive: three goals in 36 appearances. That spell established him as a hard-running, dependable wide player, used more for his energy and reliability than for anything too ornamental.
Cadden later moved on to Oxford United, then Columbus Crew, before returning to Scottish football with Hibernian. At Easter Road he has settled mainly at right-back, giving Hibs experience, mobility and a fairly steady presence in a position that rarely invites much romance.
In 2025–26, he has made 20 league appearances and scored one league goal for Hibernian. His form has been solid, though he has not been in the matchday squad recently, with his last appearance coming in Hibernian’s 1-1 draw with Motherwell on 10 January 2026.
Cadden’s career has been a straightforward one: developed at Motherwell, tested himself away from Scotland, and returned to become a regular first-team player at Hibernian. He remains part of the current side’s senior core when available.
