Colby Donovan, born on 7 September 2006 (age 20), is a Scottish right-back whose senior career is already tied closely to Celtic. He remains part of the current squad, with his progress measured less by noise than by the gradual accumulation of proper first-team minutes.
His Celtic record now stands at 23 league appearances across two seasons. The heavier share came in 2025-26, when he made 14 league appearances, while 2026-27 has brought 9 more in the league, alongside outings in the League Cup, Scottish Cup, Champions League qualifiers and Europa League.
Donovan’s time at Celtic has already included two Premiership titles, in 2024-25 and 2025-26, and the 2024-25 League Cup. That does not make him a central figure in those successes, but it does place his early career inside a winning first-team environment, which is never a bad education.
Transfermarkt values him at around £1.5m. For now, his profile is straightforward: a young Scottish full-back at Celtic, building appearances and trying to turn squad involvement into something more settled.
