Born on a cold Scottish day back in 1995, Coll Donaldson aspired to play the noble game of football from a tender age. Now, as a towering 6ft 2in (1.88m) central-defender, he’s pinning his hopes on Falkirk, weighted by the hefty aspiration of his 12st 12lb (82kg) mass. His jersey sports the number six boldly on the back, not that a remarkable number is indicative of a remarkable career trajectory.
Mr Donaldson's market value amounts to a rather unspectacular €100,000 (£85,000, if you don't have a currency converter handy), as per Transfermarkt.
In July of 2012, our young Scottish lad made a shift to Livingston, situated in Premiership territory. His first season (2012-2013) at Livingston was adorned by a grand total of 5 league appearances. The following season saw somewhat more action, 19 appearances and even 1 noteworthy goal to boot.
For reasons only known to Mr Donaldson and perhaps the negotiation folks, he transferred to Queens Park Rangers, within the Championship in England, for a brave £150,000 in January 2014. It's beyond mere mortal comprehension as to why such a transfer amount was justified for a chap who only managed a solo appearance during the season.
Our young lad ventured back to his home turf, Scotland, in July 2015 to play for Dundee United. His seasons there (2015-2017) saw sporadic sprinklings of league appearances (18 and 14 respectively).
Yet another unremarkable Trans(age)fer in 2017 saw our protagonist move to Inverness CT in the League One, managing 16 appearances in the league.
Not one to stick around, Mr Donaldson was seen gallivanting off to Ross County in the Championship in January 2020 for an undisclosed fee (one wonders why). Amidst bouts of musical chairs, he managed to squeeze in a loan transfer to Dunfermline Athletic in January 2022 before returning to Ross County after the completion of his loan period.
The period from 2019 to 2022 saw him slowly increase his appearances, although goals appeared to be a bit of an elusive beast barely making their appearance on the field.
In July 2022, our journeyman found himself moving to Falkirk, gardening in the Premiership division of Scotland. His appearance frequency remained steady, although his goalscoring propensity evidently did not follow suit. Our subject, Coll Donaldson, holds promise yet, with a cautious eye on the current season (2025-2026) which at the moment doesn't show any league appearances for him. However, let's not forget his momentous start in the Scottish Cup of 2024-2025 for Falkirk. Oh, the memories.
