Deniss Meļņiks is a Latvian central defender, born on 7 September 2002 (age 24), and now with Falkirk. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.90m), he is chiefly a centre-half, with the profile of a defender expected to handle the plain physical work first.
His career is shaped far more by Auda than by any other stop. Across four seasons there, Meļņiks made 91 league appearances and scored nine league goals, giving him a proper body of senior football rather than the usual scattered early-career fragments.
His best attacking return came in 2024, when he scored five times in 27 league appearances for Auda. For a central defender, that is a useful contribution without needing to be dressed up as something more dramatic.
At Falkirk in 2026-27, wearing squad number 21, he has made five league appearances and three in the League Cup. He has also represented Latvia this season, with five appearances in European World Cup qualifying.
Meļņiks’ career to this point is built largely on his Auda spell, with Falkirk the next stage and Latvia appearances adding international context to a still-developing senior record.
