Born on the 8th of February 1998, Belgian forward Elton Kabangu is known for his work up front as a striker for Hearts. With a height of 5ft 10in (1.78m) and a weight of 11st (70kg), Kabangu has built a reputation for his play in the number 7 jersey.
As reported by Transfermarkt, the 27-year-old's current market value stands at a respectable £500k.
Kabangu, originally from Gent in Belgium's Pro League, embarked on his journey across Europe in August 2017 when he was transferred to FC Eindhoven in the Netherlands on loan. During his 2017 - 2018 debut season with FC Eindhoven, Kabangu made a name for himself with 38 first-team appearances and ten league goals. He followed up with a further 36 first team appearances and eight goals in league matches for the 2018 - 2019 season.
In August 2019, Kabangu moved from Gent to Willem II in the Netherlands for an undisclosed fee. His record for Willem II was respectable with 56 first team appearances across three seasons and a total of 15 league goals under his belt.
After his tenure with Willem II, Kabangu found a new home in Belgium's Pro League with Union Saint-Gilloise. Though his stint was brief, spanning only one and a half seasons from 2023 to 2025 with a total of 19 first team appearances and one goal, it was notable.
Kabangu moved to Hearts in Scotland on a loan in January 2025 before the transfer was made permanent in July of that same year for around £250k. Despite his short time with Hearts, Kabangu's impact has been significant, having already scored six goals in 14 first team appearances in the 2024 - 2025 season. In the current 2025 - 2026 season, he has so far made 11 first team appearances.
In addition to his league performances, Kabangu has also demonstrated his abilities in cup competition — in the 2025 - 2026 League Cup, he scored a goal over the course of two starts and three appearances as a substitute. In the Scottish Cup of the same year, he made a contribution as a substitute.
