Emmanuel Fernandez, our chum from England, decorated the world with his presence on 20 November 2001. Now at the ripe old age of 23, he's muscled his way into playing as a central defender for Rangers, all the while donning the lofty number 37 jersey. Just for the record, and not that anyone would be particularly inclined to check, Fernandez is 6ft 4in tall (that's 1.94m in the world of the metrically inclined) and hoists around 13st 3lb of his well-nourished body (translate it into kilos and you get 84kg).
For the eager finance aficionados among us, his current market value is skirting around the £316k mark. And please, don’t question that figure. A link to Transfermarkt will soon show the validity of this casually dropped statement.
Our young Emmanuel, ever the jet setter, transferred from playing footie in a Ramsgate paddock to bustling Peterborough United in the glorious world of English League One in July 2021. Oh, what a time to be alive! In his rambunctious debut season at Peterborough United, lo and behold, Emmanuel stepped on to the turf for a single first team appearance in league matches.
In a twist worthy of a soap opera, March 2023 saw Fernandez shipped off from Peterborough United in the League One in England to the illustrious Barnet in League Two, England on loan. But like a bad penny, he returned from Barnet to Peterborough United on completion of his loan in June 2023.
July 2025 marked the year when Fernandez, obviously tiring of the English views, transferred from Peterborough United in the League One in England, and crossed the border to the Highland heather, signing on for Rangers in the Premiership in Scotland for an undisclosed fee. Moving north seems to have done the trick for Fernandez, as he scraped together a single first team appearance with Rangers in the current 2025 - 2026 season.
Just to add some extra pep to his time with Rangers, Fernandez graced the League Cup 2025 - 2026 by scoring a solitary goal after starting only once. Truly, a tale one simply can't make up.
