Florian Grillitsch, born on 7 August 1995 (age 30), is an Austrian central defensive midfielder with SC Braga. His current market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His early senior progress included a useful spell at Werder Bremen, where his 2016–17 league campaign brought 23 appearances and two goals. That remains his most productive league season in front of goal, though scoring has never been the point of his game.
The main body of his career belongs to 1899 Hoffenheim. Across seven seasons he made 168 league appearances and scored four league goals, becoming a steady midfield presence rather than a passing visitor. It is the Hoffenheim period that gives his career its shape.
At Braga in 2025–26, Grillitsch has still been a regular first-team figure, wearing squad number 27. He has made 20 Liga Portugal appearances, scoring once, and has added 10 Europa League appearances with two goals. He has also remained involved with Austria, making five appearances in European World Cup qualifying this season.
Grillitsch’s career is that of an experienced Austrian midfielder whose longest and clearest work came at Hoffenheim, with Braga now giving him another regular role at a useful level.
