Francisco Trincão, born on 29 December 1999 (age 26), is a Portugal international winger whose senior career has settled properly at Sporting CP. He came through in Portugal with Braga before the move to Barcelona, a transfer that looked tidy on paper and rather less straightforward in practice.
The loan spells that followed mattered. Time away from Barcelona, including a season at Wolves, gave him senior minutes without quite fixing his place at the top end of the game. Sporting CP did that more convincingly. Since joining them, he has built the body of work that now shapes his career: 133 league appearances and 35 league goals across five seasons.
His best league return came in 2022-23, when he scored 10 times in 34 appearances for Sporting. He has remained a regular part of the side rather than drifting into the margins. In 2025-26, he has made 46 appearances and scored 11 goals in all competitions, including 7 in 34 league matches and 4 in 11 Champions League games.
Trincão has also stayed in the Portugal picture, making four appearances in European World Cup qualifying this season. His current market value is around £30m, according to Transfermarkt.
His career has had its diversions, but Sporting CP is where it has carried real weight. He is still a first-team regular there, with enough production to remain relevant domestically and in Europe.
