Haissem Hassan, born on 8 February 2002 (age 24), is an Egyptian right winger who joined Celtic in August 2026 from Real Oviedo for around £6m. He had been linked with Celtic in July 2026, and the move followed a season in Spain that gave the interest a fairly obvious basis.
His best league return came at Real Oviedo in 2024-25, when he scored four goals in 39 appearances. That is not wild production for a wide player, but it does point to a footballer trusted for regular work rather than occasional promise. His current market value is around £3m, according to Transfermarkt.
At Celtic, Hassan has taken squad number 23 and has made one League Cup appearance and one Champions League qualifying appearance in 2026-27. He has also represented Egypt this season, making two World Cup appearances.
His career to this point has moved from Real Oviedo regular to Celtic signing, with Egypt involvement now part of the picture. At 24, he is past the pure prospect stage, but still has plenty to prove in Glasgow.
