Hyunjun Yang, born on 25 May 2002 (age 24), is a South Korean right winger who remains part of the current Celtic first-team picture. He wears No 13 and has become a regular enough presence to matter, without the need to overstate it.
Yang came through in South Korea with Gangwon FC, where his 2022 league season did most to push him into wider view: 36 appearances and eight goals from wide areas. Celtic moved for him in July 2023, paying around £2m to bring him to Glasgow.
His time at Celtic has brought silverware as well as the usual uneven patches that come with a player still developing away from home. He has won two Premiership titles, the League Cup and the Scottish Cup with the club, and was also part of a side that finished as Scottish Cup runners-up.
In 2025-26, Yang has stayed involved rather than drifting to the edge of things. He has made 31 league appearances, scoring eight times, along with four Scottish Cup appearances and seven in the Europa League, where he has added one goal. Across the season for Celtic, that stands at 42 appearances and nine goals. He has also been involved with South Korea, featuring once at the World Cup and three times in Asian World Cup qualifying.
His market value is around £4.5m, according to Transfermarkt. Yang’s career so far has been a steady move from promise at Gangwon to a useful, still-growing role at Celtic, with enough production in the current side to keep him relevant.
