Julián Araujo, born on 13 August 2001 (age 24), is a Mexico international right-back who joined Celtic from Bournemouth in January 2026.
His career to this point has been shaped far more by LA Galaxy than by any other stop. Early loan football helped give him senior footing, but Galaxy became the main platform: four seasons, 100 league appearances and one goal, with 2020 his most productive league campaign, bringing that goal in 17 outings.
The moves that followed took him away from the MLS setting where he had made his name, with Bournemouth the final staging post before Celtic. His market value is around £8.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
At Celtic, Araujo has made 13 appearances in all competitions, scoring once. That includes 10 league appearances, two in the Scottish Cup and one in the Europa League. His form this season has been solid, though he has been out of the matchday squad in recent weeks, his last appearance coming in the 2-1 win at Aberdeen on 4 March 2026.
He has also remained involved with Mexico, making two Gold Cup appearances this season, and has collected three honours elsewhere in his career. For now, his profile is that of an established right-back whose strongest body of work remains his LA Galaxy spell, with Celtic the latest step.
