Leon King, born on 14 January 2004 (age 22), is a Scottish central defender developed through Rangers, where he has worn squad number 38 and made his senior breakthrough in modest terms rather than in a rush of certainty.
His Rangers record across all competitions stands at one appearance, coming in the Scottish Cup, with no goals. He has also been part of squads credited with a Premiership title, a Scottish Cup and a League Cup – a tidy honours line for a player still trying to build a fuller body of senior work.
The most substantial league spell of his career came at Ayr United in 2025-26, when he made 28 appearances and scored two goals. For a young centre-half, that was the useful bit: regular football, actual responsibility, and less of the background noise that tends to follow any Rangers prospect.
King remains an established professional at an early stage, with Rangers on his record and Ayr United providing his clearest run of senior league football so far. His career to this point is still more about development than definition.
