Lewis Neilson, born on 15 May 2003 (age 23), is a Scottish central defender with Hearts. At 6ft 3in (1.91m), he has the frame for the role, though his career is still more about accumulation than arrival.
His most substantial league run so far came at Partick Thistle in 2023–24, when he made 36 appearances and scored once. That season gave him regular football and a clearer platform than short spells and squad involvement tend to offer a young defender.
In 2025–26, Neilson has made 16 league appearances for Hearts without scoring. He remains a developing centre-back: established enough to be part of a top-flight squad, but still building the consistency and volume of games that decide where a defender properly settles.
