Marco Tilio, born in Hurstville, New South Wales, on 23 August 2001 (age 24), is a compact Australian right winger now with Rapid Vienna. At 5ft 7in (1.70m), he has tended to make his living through movement and sharpness rather than physical presence.
His career has been shaped most clearly by Melbourne City. Across five seasons there, he made 88 league appearances and scored 20 league goals, with his best league return coming in 2022-23, when he scored nine times in 26 matches. That spell remains the substantial body of work in his senior career.
Celtic signed him from Melbourne City in July 2023 for around £1m. It was the sort of move that looked sensible enough on paper – young, technical, with room to develop – but his Celtic spell never really became a settled one.
In August 2025, Tilio left Celtic for Rapid Vienna in a deal worth around £1.5m. Wearing squad number 23, he has made 10 appearances for Rapid across competitions in 2026-27, scoring once in Conference League qualifying, with outings in the Bundesliga, Europa play-offs, Conference League qualifiers and the Conference League itself.
His current market value is around £680,000, according to Transfermarkt. Tilio’s career to this point is still best understood through Melbourne City, with Celtic and Rapid Vienna forming the more unsettled spells around that established period.
