O'Hara's career set sail in July of 2012, when he joined Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership. Over the course of his inaugural 2012 - 2013 season, O'Hara cinched 17 first team appearances and one goal in league matches. His stride continued into the 2013 - 2014 season, with 14 first team league appearances, followed by 18 in the next season, and 29 in the 2015 - 2016 season.

Upon closing his chapter with Kilmarnock in July 2016, O'Hara transitioned to Dundee, another team competing in the Scottish Premiership.
