Michael Brouwer, born on 21 January 1993 (age 33), is a Dutch goalkeeper now with FC Utrecht. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.90m), he has spent much of his career as the sort of keeper whose path has been built through patience rather than noise.
His early development included loan spells, the usual practical education for a goalkeeper needing senior football rather than another season watching from the bench. The club that gave his career real shape, though, was Heracles Almelo. Across four seasons there he made 81 league appearances, a substantial run and comfortably the most significant stretch of his professional life.
Brouwer later moved on to FC Utrecht, where he wears squad number 25. In 2026-27 he has made five appearances across all competitions, including one in the Eredivisie, one in the KNVB Beker and three in the Europa League. His current market value is around £255,000, according to Transfermarkt.
It is a career with Heracles Almelo at its centre, followed by a more modest role at Utrecht. Brouwer remains an experienced Dutch goalkeeper with a clear body of league football behind him.
