Olivier Ntcham was born on 9 February 1996 (age 30) in Longjumeau and represents Cameroon. A centre midfielder, he came through Manchester City’s system before taking the familiar development route away from the club, with early football elsewhere helping move him beyond academy promise.
Celtic signed him from Manchester City in July 2017 for around £4.5m. Ntcham had enough quality to look a serious player in Scotland, though his Celtic spell was rarely short of uneven patches. When he was sharp, he could give the midfield a bit of authority and carry the ball through crowded areas. When he was not, the whole thing tended to look rather less convincing.
He left Celtic for Swansea City in September 2021, and it was in Wales that he produced his most productive league season, scoring eight goals in 41 appearances in 2022–2023. That spell gave his post-Celtic career a clearer shape before he moved on to Samsunspor.
Ntcham remains a regular first-team presence at Samsunspor, wearing squad number 21. In 2025–2026, he has made 24 Süper Lig appearances and scored two goals, with another goal in six Conference League appearances. Across all competitions for the club, he has 30 appearances and three goals. His market value is around £1.5m, according to Transfermarkt.
His career has run from Manchester City prospect to Celtic midfielder, then on through Swansea and into an established role in Turkey. It has not always been tidy, but he is still playing regularly at a good level.
