Ousmane Diomande, born on 4 December 2003 (age 22), is an Ivorian central defender at Sporting CP. At 6ft 3in (1.90m), he is an imposing presence, and he wears the number 26 shirt for the Lisbon club.
His senior career has been shaped overwhelmingly at Sporting. Across five seasons he has made 87 league appearances and scored five league goals, with his most productive campaign coming in 2023-2024, when he scored twice in 26 league matches.
He remains part of the first-team picture in 2025-2026 rather than a name drifting to the margins. He has made 29 appearances for Sporting in all competitions this season, including 17 in Liga Portugal and nine in the Champions League, where he has scored once. He has also featured for Ivory Coast in African World Cup qualifying.
His current market value is around £38.5m, according to Transfermarkt. At this stage, Diomande’s career is essentially a Sporting CP story: a young defender with regular minutes, European exposure and a growing international profile.
