Rui Silva (age 32) is a Portuguese goalkeeper who has built a solid senior career without much fuss. He first came through at Nacional, where his earliest league appearance arrived in the 2013–14 season, before moving on and establishing himself more fully away from his starting point.
He is now with Sporting CP, where he remains a regular first-team presence in 2025–26. Silva has made 32 league appearances this season, along with one in the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira and 11 in the Champions League, taking him to 44 matches in all competitions. For a goalkeeper, that tells its own story: he is trusted, available and very much part of the side rather than simply passing through it.
At 6ft 2in (1.89m), he is not especially imposing for the position, but he has clearly held his place at a high level. His market value is around £6m, according to Transfermarkt.
Overall, Silva’s career has followed the shape of a dependable top-level goalkeeper’s path: an early start at Nacional and an established role now with Sporting CP, where he is still heavily involved in the current side.
