Scott Bain, a Scottish native, is a recognised goalkeeper for Falkirk, having been born on 22 November 1991. Standing tall at 6ft (1.83m) and weighing 11st (70kg), Bain proudly sports the number 19 jersey. Transfermarkt reckons his current market value to be around ยฃ130k. With his contract expiring on the 31st May 2026, his time with Falkirk is limited to the next 10 months.
Bain started his goalkeeper career in August 2010, moving on loan from Aberdeen to Elgin City, where he quickly made his mark, making 11 first team appearances in his debut season. He then transferred to Alloa Athletic the following July, where he was a regular feature on the team, making 100 first-team league appearances across three seasons.
July 2014 saw Bain on the move again, this time landing at Dundee. His time with Dundee proved to be a significant period of growth and experience in the Premiership, as he took to the field 107 times in total. In January 2018, his journey took him on loan to Hibernian and then to the mighty Celtic later that same month.
His time at Celtic, while notable, was not as heavily booked; he made seven first-team league appearances in the 2017-18 season. He then had his strongest season in 2018-19 with 20 appearances. The following seasons saw his involvement more sparing; he made only two appearances in 2019-20, but increased his participation to 18 matches in 2020-21. Unfortunately, his appearances once again diminished over the next two seasons. Bain obviously had an affinity for Celtic as he transferred there permanently in July 2018.
Bain stayed with Celtic for several seasons. There were high points, such as the twenty appearances in season 2018-2019, and low points, such as the single appearance in season 2022-2023. After a handful of matches over the years, Bain transferred back to Falkirk in 2025, where he currently plays. So far, he's made two first team appearances in league matches for the current season, and has also started twice in the League Cup.
Even with the ups and downs of his career, Bainโs resolve has been commendable. As he continues with Falkirk, it's clear that his story in the world of football is far from over.
