Born in Scotland on 14th September 1995, Stuart Findlay is a respected defender most notably associated with the Central Defender role for Hearts. Standing at 6ft 3in (1.91 metres), and weighing in at 12st 12lb (82 kilograms), he currently brandishes the number 19 jersey.
In the football season of 2013-2014, Findlay transferred from Celtic, participating in Scotland's Premiership, to Greenock Morton, a Championship side, on loan. It was in this season that he made 14 appearances in first-team league matches.
The following year, Celtic again loaned out Findlay, this time to Dumbarton in League Two. In Scotland He made 15 appearances in first-team league matches for Dumbarton in that season.
In a season-long loan in 2015, Findlay left Celtic for the Premiership side, Kilmarnock. Over several seasons at Kilmarnock, he regularly proved his merit, making numerous first-team appearances and securing a reasonable number of goals. His clear zeal for the game led Newcastle United to transfer him from Celtic in July 2016.
Upon reaching Newcastle United in the Premier League, Findlay was loaned out to Kilmarnock shortly after, in August 2017. In the following seasons, he had an impressive track record, scoring several goals across plentiful appearances for Kilmarnock.
In July 2018, Findlay was transferred from Newcastle United to Kilmarnock, this time not on loan. He remained a steady presence within Kilmarnock's ranks for the seasons that followed, consistently delivering on the field.
His time at Kilmarnock came to an end in February 2021, when he transferred to Philadelphia Union in the MLS in the USA. The transfer happened for a reported fee of around £250k, and across a couple of seasons, he made a number of first-team appearances.
In July 2022, Findlay then transferred from Philadelphia Union to Oxford United, who were competing in England's Championship, for an undisclosed fee. He contributed the team with 28 first team appearances across the season.
His stay was short-lived, however, as he was loaned to Kilmarnock in July 2023. As usual, Findlay continued his impressive curriculum, making numerous appearances and scoring goals during this loan spell.
In June 2025, following his loan spell, Findlay returned to Oxford United. He maintained his usual high standards, making several appearances for the team in the 2022-2023 season.
On his final noted transfer, in July 2025, Findlay was loaned from Oxford United to Hearts in the Scottish Premiership. So far, in the current season of 2025-2026, Findlay has made 9 appearances and scored 3 goals in league matches. He's also had the opportunity to participate in the League Cup 2025-2026 for Hearts, scoring one goal over the course of three starts and one appearance as a substitute.
