Born on 20 November 2002 in Zimbabwe, Tawanda Maswanhise is a forward who primarily presides on the left wing for Motherwell. At the age of 23, his solid build of 5ft 8in (1.75m) in height and a weight of 10st 12lb (69kg) provide him a substantial presence on the pitch. Adorning the number 18 jersey, Maswanhise's career also extends to the international stage, representing the Zimbabwe national team.
According to Transfermarkt, his current market value hovers around £3m. An interesting figure indeed, for a player who began his journey in the Championship league of England.
In July 2019, Maswanhise made his leap towards a professional football career, joining the ranks of Leicester City in the Championship. His stint in England did not last long though, as he made a transfer from Leicester City to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership in August 2024.
His first season (2024-2025) at Motherwell displayed his potential as he made 30 first team appearances and netted six goals in the Premiership. The following season (2025-2026), his performances have only improved with 27 first team appearances and an impressive tally of 16 goals in the league matches.
Besides his domestic feats, Maswanhise also left his mark at the international tournaments. At the Africa CON 2025, he represented Zimbabwe, making one start, one substitute appearance and scoring a goal. In the Scottish League Cup 2025-2026, he put up another commendable performance, scoring four goals in seven appearances for Motherwell. He also partook in the Scottish Cup 2025-2026, scoring once in his two starts.
