Well, allow me to introduce you to Thelo Aasgaard, a fresh-faced footballer reasonably trying to make his mark in the game. Born and raised in the land of bangers, mash and tea - England - on May 2, 2002, Aasgaard, now 23, is spending his prime years as - surprise, surprise - an attacking midfielder for the Rangers. Standing 6ft 2in tall (1.88 metres for you metric chaps) and tipping the scales at 11st 4lb (or 72kg), the lad is bearing the burden of number 11 jersey for his team. Aasgaard has even managed to grab attention further abroad, with a few caps for the Norway national team tucked under his belt.
Now, before you get any funny ideas about his worth, let me extend to you the amusingly precise estimation of his market value: a tidy £2m, according to the chaps over at Transfermarkt.
Aasgaard's journey in the football world kicked off, quite literally, at Wigan Athletic in July 2016. Apparently somebody told him that joining a League One club was the fast track to stardom. He made a respectable, if not exactly sparkling, debut in the 2022-2023 season, clocking up 41 showings and potting 3 goals in league matches.
By the time January 2025 rolled around, our man Aasgaard, seemingly unsatisfied with his surroundings, hopped on the transfer merry-go-round. Destination: Luton Town. Price: undisclosed. Sniffed a better gravy train, I suppose. During his half season at Luton, he made 17 appearances and bagged a couple of goals.
But League One was evidently just too small a pond for our ambitious young lad. In July 2025, raking in £3.5m in transfer fees, thar he blows - off to the Scottish Premiership with Rangers.
The current season (2025 - 2026), his first with Rangers, saw our Aasgaard tread the pitch in league matches a commendable 24 times, netting himself four goals in the process. His campaign hasn't been limited to the league, mind you. The boy's been kicking about in the League Cup, the Scottish Cup and even on the continental stages of the Champions League and Europa League Qualifiers. Didn't forget his national duties either, putting on a good show in World Cup Qualifiers for Norway.
