Tochi Chukwuani, having punctuated this mortal plane with his presence since 24 March 2003 (22 years, if your maths is rusty), hails from the monotonously flat terrain of Denmark. He's a lad who lives and breathes the oft-underappreciated role of central midfield, doing so currently as part of the rather uniform kilts-and-bagpipes scene of Scotland's Rangers. Chukwuani stands at a mildly impressive 6ft 1in (or 1.87m for the metrically inclined) and tips the scales at 11st 9lb (or 74kg if you must know in kilograms).
Digging deeper into Chukwuani's arsenal, his jersey bears the somewhat mystifying number 42, and he has, in the past, expended his youthful vigour competing for the Denmark U21 national team - oh what larks must have been had.
Depending on whose valuation you trust - and really, who would be gullible enough to trust a football valuator - Transfermarkt pegs his worth in the market at about £4.3m. And don't forget that Chukwuani's skill set was finely honed in the accomplished football furnaces of FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark's Superliga, where he made his ignoble beginnings as a trainee back in July 2017.
After some seasons of cannon foddering on Danish soil, Chukwuani was passed off like yesterday's stale smørrebrød to Lyngby, another Danish team, in August 2022. We mustn't fail to mention his stint at Sturm Graz in Austria, acquired in July 2024 for a scandalously modest fee of around £180k. But then, who are we to question the mysterious machinations of footballing fate?
Finally, Chukwuani found himself shuffled off to Rangers here on old Caledonian ground in January 2026 for a hefty fee of about £4.3m. An intriguing career arc, wouldn't you say? No? Well, too bad, because that's all we've got.
In case you're dying to know, our intrepid midfielder has been putting his boots to good use for Rangers, having appeared six times thus far in the current 2025 - 2026 season. He's even had a start in the Scottish Cup, and made a pair of appearances in UEFA U21 Qualifiers 2025 for Denmark U21. Naturally, we expect more will come. Or not. Really, who can say in the unpredictable world of football?
