Tom Renaud (born 10 November 2000, age 25) is a French central defensive midfielder with Hearts, where he wears the number 12 shirt. His role is a plain one: sit, screen, recycle the ball, and offer the occasional useful contribution further forward.
His most productive league season came with Cholet in 2023–24, when he scored four goals in 31 appearances. That remains the clearest marker of his output over a full campaign.
By 2026–27, Renaud had made one league appearance for Hearts and scored once. He had also appeared in the League Cup, the Europa League qualifiers, the Champions League qualifiers and the Conference League qualifiers, with one goal in Europa League qualifying. Across all competitions for Hearts, he has seven appearances and two goals.
Renaud’s career so far has taken him from French football with Cholet to a midfield place at Hearts. He is an established professional rather than a headline name, with his best spell for goals still tied to that 2023–24 season in France.
