Elie Youan, born on 7 April 1999 (age 27), is a French left winger whose senior career has come to be shaped far more by Hibernian than by any earlier stop. His development included loan spells before he settled in Edinburgh, the sort of practical education that tends to matter more than the brochure version of a young forward’s progress.
At Hibs, Youan found the run of games that gave his career some substance. Across four seasons he has made 97 league appearances and scored 20 league goals, with 2022-23 his most productive campaign: nine goals in 36 league matches. That remains the clearest season of his career so far, not spectacular, but useful and consistent enough.
In 2025-26 he has still been part of the Hibernian first-team picture, with 17 league appearances and four league goals. Across all competitions for the season he has played 23 times, including appearances in the League Cup, Scottish Cup, Europa League qualifying and Conference League qualifying. His form has been solid, though he has been out of the matchday squad in recent weeks, with his last appearance coming against Hearts on 10 February 2026.
Youan’s career is, for now, plainly a Hibernian one: a French wide player who arrived after earlier development elsewhere and became a regular contributor in the Scottish Premiership.
