Josh Campbell, born on 6 May 2000 (age 25), is a Scottish central midfielder whose senior career has been spent overwhelmingly with Hibernian. He wears number 32 and has become one of those steady, familiar figures around Easter Road: not especially glamorous, but usually involved.
His early loan spells away from Hibs served their purpose, giving him the first-team grounding needed before he became a more regular option back at his parent club. They were development moves rather than the story itself. The story has been Hibernian.
Across five seasons with Hibs, Campbell has made 139 league appearances and scored 17 league goals. His best return came in 2022-23, when he scored eight times in 36 league matches, a useful contribution from midfield and a reminder that his game has carried more than just running and structure.
He remains relevant in the 2025-26 side. Campbell has made 25 league appearances and scored once, with further outings in the League Cup, Europa League qualifying and Conference League qualifying taking him to 31 appearances in all competitions this season. His form has been solid overall, though it has dipped a little in recent weeks.
Campbell’s career is, to this point, a Hibernian career: shaped by early loans, established in Leith, and still active in their first-team plans.
