Josh Rae, born on 17 October 2000 (age 26), is a Scottish goalkeeper with the size for the job at a commanding 6ft 3in (1.91m). He is listed as Raith Rovers’ number 1, with a market value of around £170,000 according to Transfermarkt.
His senior career has had its staging posts, including a spell at Airdrieonians in 2022-23, when he made eight league appearances. That was useful grounding, but Raith Rovers have been the club around which his career has properly taken shape.
At Stark’s Park, Rae has made 62 league appearances across three seasons. In 2026-27, he has added 12 Championship appearances, along with three in the League Cup and one in the Scottish Cup, giving him 16 appearances for Raith across all competitions that season.
Rae’s career to this point is a straightforward one: a Scottish goalkeeper who has built his senior standing mainly at Raith Rovers, where he has moved beyond promise and into regular first-team responsibility.
