Born in Belgium on the 30th of November 1999, Rocky Bushiri is a defender known for his ability in the centre-back position. Presently displaying his skills at Hibernian, he cuts a formidable figure at 6ft 1in (1.87m) and weighs in at a solid 13st 12lb (88kg). His kit is easily recognisable on the pitch with its number 33 and has seen action not only in club games but also at an international level for the DR Congo national team.
Bushiri's journey through the world of professional football began with Oostende in the Derde Klasse (Belgium), where he signed on as a trainee in July 2016. His debut season in 2017 - 2018 saw him making two appearances for the first team in league matches. The following season, Bushiri was loaned to Eupen in the Challenger Pro League in Belgium where he was called upon 23 times in league matches.
In July 2019, a change in Bushiri's career path came in the form of a transfer from Oostende to Norwich City in England's Championship for an undisclosed fee. However, the new surroundings didn't last long as he was loaned to Blackpool in England's League One in August 2019, then to Sint-Truiden in Belgium's Pro League in January 2020, where he made seven appearances.
July 2020 saw another loan for Bushiri, this time to Mechelen in the Pro League, before another loan instantiation to Eupen in January 2021. Despite the seemingly incessant movement, Bushiri continued to perform, making numerous appearances in league matches during his time with these clubs.
Bushiri found a more permanent home in January 2022 when he transferred from Norwich City to Hibernian in Scotland's Premiership on loan. The move was made permanent six months later in July, with an undisclosed fee agreeing to the Championship side. Since making the move to Scotland, Bushiri proved a constant presence at Hibs, making a notable number of appearances over the following seasons and even finding the back of the net three times in the current 2024 - 2025 season.
Aside from his league performances, Bushiri has also represented Hibernian in the League Cup during the 2024 - 2025 season and in the Scottish Cup, scoring a goal through three starts. Internationally, he featured once in the World Cup Qualifiers in Africa for DR Congo during the 2024 - 2026 campaign.
